…and I’ve learned a couple of things.
Creating a decent project by yourself takes longer than you think.
Most of the reason for this is that I had a few projects planned when I left but more cropped up during the year.
Still, my first big project (a simulation/game for web browsers and mobile devices) was planned to be published this month.
I’m in the middle of replacing the original (blocky) graphics with better pictures. I also have some tweaking to the game play.
There is nothing worse than developers releasing a game then finding out that the gameplay is not balanced and they go ahead and patch by “nerf”ing some items.
I don’t want to do that, so I’ll release the game when it’s done, even if it’s a little late.
On the whole, I really enjoy working from home. For now, the pay is a little less than working full time but the time spent with family is well worth it.
